At Batavia United Way (BUW), our mission is to support and uplift our community through meaningful partnerships and impactful grants. One such partnership is with Tri City Health Partnership (TCHP), a vital organization providing free medical and dental care to those in need. Through our Community Impact Grants, BUW is proud to support TCHP’s general medical and dental care programs, ensuring comprehensive health services are accessible to everyone in our community.
Comprehensive Care for All
The funding from BUW is crucial in supporting a wide range of services at TCHP, including medications, exams, radiology, lab work, and social service support for both acute and chronic patients. These programs address various health needs, from managing chronic conditions like diabetes and asthma to providing mental health and addiction support, flu vaccines, COVID-19 treatment, and essential oral care.
TCHP’s holistic approach ensures that patients receive life-changing care. The partnership between BUW and TCHP means that more individuals can access the healthcare they desperately need, creating a healthier, stronger community.

The Cost of Care
To illustrate the impact of the BUW grant, consider the hard cost of one office visit at TCHP: $204 per person. This amount covers exams, lab work, screenings, testing, and medications. This grant directly funds 35 visits for Batavia residents, providing essential care to those who might otherwise go without.
For diabetic patients, the cost of insulin is a significant burden. A three-month supply for one patient averages $900. This funding equates to a year’s worth of insulin for two Batavians, ensuring they can manage their condition effectively.
TCHP also supports Lazarus House, the local homeless shelter, by providing TB testing for all staff and guests at no charge. The cost for each test is $67, which means BUW’s support will fund 105 TB tests for the year, preventing the catastrophic spread of tuberculosis in our community.

Call for Volunteers
TCHP is always in need of dedicated medical and dental providers to support onsite services and offsite referral specialists. Volunteering with TCHP is a fulfilling way to give back and make a tangible difference in the lives of those in our community. Even one shift can make an enormous difference to those who need support.
