Community Dinner Table: A Taste of the Coast – August 30, 2026
One Long Table. One Strong Community. Every Seat Feeds a Neighbor.
On August 30, our community came together for Batavia United Way’s Community Dinner Table: A Taste of the Coast—an evening of delicious food, live music, laughter, friendship, and community.
And yes… there was rain. A LOT of rain. But it didn’t stop Batavia from showing up.
Together, we raised just over $20,000 to help fight food insecurity in our community.
Community Dinner Table is more than a dinner. It’s a celebration of what can happen when neighbors come together around a shared table.
Proceeds from this year’s event will support local programs providing food and meals to Batavia neighbors, including:
- Batavia Interfaith Food Pantry
- Salvation Army Food Pantry
- Meals on Wheels for Batavia seniors
- Senior Food Program at Riverain Point Apartments
- Home-delivered meals prepared by teen volunteers for neighbors experiencing serious illness

This Is What Community Looks Like.
The weather may have tested us, but our community spirit never wavered.
Volunteers covered and uncovered tables, moved tents, served dinner, reset spaces, and kept everything moving through the rain. Local businesses and community organizations stepped up with tents and support. Our sponsors invested in the evening. Our culinary partners helped create an incredible meal. And our guests? They smiled, laughed, danced—and embraced every raindrop.
We are so grateful to everyone who pulled up a chair and helped make this night possible.

What is included with my ticket?
Your ticket includes dinner and dessert from local restaurants, beverages provided by local establishments, live entertainment, and participation in this unique community experience.
Is seating assigned?
No. Seating is open, encouraging neighbors and friends to gather together at one long community table.
Is the event outdoors?
Yes. Please dress appropriately for the weather.
What should I wear?
Casual summer attire is encouraged. Feel free to embrace the coastal theme! (Although leave the swimwear at home! 
)
Will there be vegetarian or dietary options?
We will work with participating restaurants to offer a variety of options whenever possible. The main dish will be chicken and shrimp, but all sides are vegetarian. We are still finalizing the menu and will provide updates as available.
Where does the money go?
Proceeds support Batavia United Way and community partners working to address food insecurity and provide resources for Batavia residents, including local food pantries, senior citizen food programs, and delivered meals for those with serious illnesses.
Are tickets refundable?
As a charitable fundraiser, tickets are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, tickets may be transferred to another guest by notifying Batavia United Way in advance either by email (info@bataviaunitedway.org) or by calling us at 630-877-2780.
What happens if it rains?
We will do our best to hold the event rain or shine. Any weather-related updates will be communicated through Batavia United Way’s website and social media channels.
Can I purchase raffle tickets or bid on auction items at the event?
Yes! Raffle tickets and silent auction will be available during the evening.
