    Frequently Asked Questions

Does my organization need to be in Batavia to qualify?

Organizations do not need to be headquartered in Batavia to qualify; however, organizations must serve Batavia residents to be eligible for funding.

If my program is outside of the impact areas that United Way funds, can I still apply?

Funding decisions are based on aligning with the mission of Batavia United Way and its impact areas. If there is a question, please reach out to Batavia United Way to discuss your program before submitting an application.

    How is funding determined?

Each year, the Community Impact Grant budget is determined based on funds raised through donations and fundraisers. Applications are reviewed, evaluated, and discussed by the allocations committee who then recommends the grant awards to the Batavia United Way Board of Directors. The grant allocation recommendations must be approved by the board. Funding is awarded based on need, the availability of funds, and evaluation/measurement of the community outcomes achieved by the program.
