Overview of Responsibilities: The Executive Director will serve as the chief administrator of the Batavia United Way, providing leadership and implementing policies and programs to carry out the work of the organization.
Business Operations and Development
*Reports to the Board of Directors, maintains open communication and disclosure of the conditions, operations and needs of the organization
*Coordinates all general office responsibilities including annual recertification with United Way Worldwide and maintaining our 501c3 status in good standing
*Assists Board of Directors to identify and implement programs to meet the needs of the Batavia community
*Researches and writes grants to help fund programs
*Develops database of community contacts, volunteers, and donors
*Oversees the planning and execution of fundraisers and events
*Manages collection, acknowledgement, disbursement and accounting of all funds, property, official records, and reports
*Works with Board of Directors in recruitment and training of new Board Members
*Oversees the management and accuracy of the Batavia United Way Website
*Executes other duties as requested by the Board of Directors
Marketing & Public Relations
*Assists Board to increase visibility in our community, attends occasional community events
*Prepares and coordinates annual Residential Campaign Mailing
*Prepares regular newsletters for distribution through Constant Contacts
*Assists in the marketing and support of Kane County 211
*Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to develop and communicate the organization’s mission and vision
*Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with government agencies, community leaders, and the general public
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
*Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times, stressful environment
*Previous leadership experience on a Nonprofit board for 2+ years preferred
*Previous managerial or business administration experience a plus
*Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks, Constant Contacts and Google Docs
*WordPress knowledge a plus
*Must have reliable transportation
*Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
*Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
*Hours fluctuate during the year based upon organization needs, but average 25 hours per week
*Salary commensurate with experience
*Ability to work remotely
*Gas mileage reimbursement
